Diana McIver
Diana McIver has been involved in the real estate industry, specializing in affordable housing, for 40 years.
She founded DMA Development Company, LLC, DMA Properties, LLC, and DMA Property Advisors, LLC, as well as precursors Diana McIver & Associates, Inc. and Conroy & McIver. She serves as the General Partner in more than 25 housing partnerships, totaling more than 2200 apartments, and has assisted smaller organizations with capacity building.
Diana will tell you that, aside from her degree in Sociology, she has the most logical career path ever – having spearheaded legislative changes to housing programs as staff of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, trained housing professionals across the country in how to develop and manage affordable housing through the many HUD programs as staff at the National Center for Housing Management, and then branching out on her own in 1980.
Her notable accomplishments include:
- 2023 Texas Housers Award for her continued efforts in the field of affordable housing development in Texas
- 2021 Affordable Housing Finance Hall of Fame Inductee
- Affordable Housing Finance Magazine's Top Ten Influential Women in Affordable Housing in 2016
- Member of the Year 2014 by the Texas Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies (TALHFA)
- Recipient of the Jean MacDonald Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013 by the Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers (TAAHP)
- Recipient of the 2012 Community Vision Award from the Austin Chapter, American Institute of Architects
- Congressional Appointment in 2001 to the 14-member Commission on Affordable Housing and Health Care Facility Needs for Seniors in the 21st Century
She currently serves on the Board of the TALHFA where, as 2nd Vice President, she Chairs its Legislative Committee. She is also Past President of TAAHP and currently serves on its Governmental Affairs Committee. Diana also holds a Texas Real Estate Brokers License and is a member of both the Texas Association of Realtors and the Austin Board of Realtors.
JoEllen Smith
Since joining the DMA Companies in March 1998, JoEllen has served in numerous capacities during her twenty five-year tenure, giving her the necessary overall perspective to lead DMA's operations. She has served in an officer capacity since 2002 and as Executive Vice President for the past fifteen years.
Her leadership role within DMA Companies is very diverse and ranges from providing oversight for daily operations of DMA Properties to serving as the Principal in Charge for Development Production overseeing loan processing, construction, and transition to operations for DMA's developments funded through the Housing Tax Credit program. Additionally, she is actively engaged in the business development and marketing activities for both DMA's development and property management companies.
Coming to Austin via Southern California and upstate New York, JoEllen received a BA in Political Science and a Gerontology Certification from California State University, Long Beach.
Janine Sisak
Janine is beginning her 16th year with DMA having joined DMA in December 2001 as a Development Associate. Today she serves as General Counsel, a position she has held since 2006, providing legal guidance for both development and property management activities.
As Senior Vice President and DMA's Principal in Charge of Development Originations, Janine specializes in mixed-income, mixed-use developments with multiple sources of financing and has completed some of DMA's most difficult transactions.
Janine was elected to the Board of the Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers (TAAHP) in 2014 and was elected Secretary in 2016. She also has been lauded for her work as Chair of TAAHP's Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) Committee. She is on the Board of Rosewood Senior Housing I, Inc., an Austin based nonprofit which owns and operated Lyons Gardens, a HUD Section 202 providing affordable housing for seniors.
A Pennsylvania native, she graduated cum laude from Tufts University (MA) with a BA in Economics and received her law degree from Fordham University School of Law (NY) where she was Notes and Articles Editor for the Fordham Law Review. Janine is a member of the Texas Bar Association.
John Jee
John Jee joined DMA in October 2019 after starting a food truck business in 2018. Prior to that adventure, he had a successful 10-year career with another Austin-based multi-family housing company. At DMA, John directs all accounting operations for more than 10 DMA companies and more than 60 partnerships.
John works closely with an outside audit firm as well as numerous tax credit investors doing business with DMA companies. John received his BS in Business, with focus on Finance, Real Estate and Law from California State Polytechnic Univ., Pomona and earned his Texas CPA designation in 2012.
Marnie Geurin
Marnie Geurin joined DMA in November 2009 working as a Property Manager for Sunchase Square. After successfully developing her team as a Property Manager and later as a Regional Manager, she was promoted to Director of Operations in 2016. In this role, she oversaw the operations of DMA Properties, LLC and DMA Property Advisors, LLC. This included monthly and quarterly financial reporting, budget control, resident and employee relations, audit and inspection support, lease up of new properties and property management software set up, implementation and training. In 2022, she transitioned into the role of Director of Compliance and Investor Relations. In this role, she oversees a team of four Compliance Managers. As a team, the responsibilities include review and approval of all resident compliance files and training onsite staff on all aspects of compliance. Her responsibilities also include all compliance correspondence and reporting for the State Agencies, Investors and Lenders for all DMA properties. She is responsible for ensuring DMA Properties is complying with LIHTC requirements and the requirements of investors and lenders for all properties.
Marnie is a graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan College with a BS in Business Management and has more than 25 years of experience in the multifamily industry. Marnie is a Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), Certified Tax Credit Specialist (TCS) and Blended Occupancy Specialist (BOS).
Blake Mauldin
After navigating the Real Estate Market in New York City for over 10 years, Blake Mauldin relocated to Austin, TX and joined DMA in June 2016 as an Assistant Property Manager. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to Property Manager over two Austin communities for a couple of years - but the journey didn't stop there. In 2019, Blake transitioned to the role of Director of Marketing & Communications and currently assists with new developments, lease-ups and maintaining high occupancy numbers across the DMA portfolio – all while continuing to increase DMA's exposure to the Market.
He also plays a part on the Operations team to ensure successful day to day workings in the organization. Blake graduated in 2003 from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Media and Performing Arts.
Tracy Falknor
Tracy Falknor serves as Director of Human Resources for DMA Companies and its affiliates. Tracy began her HR career in 2007 and has consistently worked to expand her Human Resources knowledge by serving as a member of various professional networking groups and organizations, as well as achieving her SHRM-CP designation. Tracy is well versed in HR compliance, employee engagement and retention, comp and bonus structures, organizational structure, employee training and development, recruiting/sourcing and selection strategies, etc. Tracy lists her strengths as her passion for Human Resources, streamlining and simplifying processes, her drive for improving the employee experience, and overall customer service she provides to internal and external customers. She also believes that we should all strive to be a better version of ourselves than the day before.
Andrew Sinnott
Andrew joined DMA in 2023 and has over 15 years of experience in affordable multifamily rental housing in both the public and private sectors. He helps manage all phases of development, from conducting due diligence on new opportunities to transitioning completed properties to property management. Andrew received his BA in English from Quinnipiac University and MA in Public Policy from Stony Brook University.
Casey Appleman
Casey Appleman joined DMA in September of 2021 as the Resident Relations Coordinator. Prior to joining DMA, she addended Paris Fashion Institute in France, worked for a high-end fashion house and some of the largest multifamily housing companies in the world. After working in the apartment industry and customer service for twenty-three years, she appreciates the feel of a boutique real estate company like DMA, much better than the larger organizations earlier in her career. “It feels like a family with a smaller company where you are much more than just a number.”
Tara Bellamy
As Director of Training and Property Operations at DMA, Tara brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to her role. Joining the company in 2015 as a property manager in Hinesville, GA. She relocated to Houston, TX in 2017 to oversee a new construction lease-up and was subsequently promoted to District Manager, where she assumed responsibility for overseeing properties in Southeast Texas and Georgia.
With over 16 years of experience in property management, Tara’s expertise spans a diverse portfolio of properties as Regional and District Managers, demonstrating her ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver results.
Tara’s academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Walden University and a Master’s degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University. Tara is also a licensed Texas Real Estate Agent and a Certified Tax Credit Specialist.
Melinda Garibay
Melinda Garibay joined DMA in July 2018 as Property Manager for Bailey Square Apartments. After developing her team, she was then promoted to District Manager in 2019. As of the Fall of 2022 Melinda was promoted to Regional Manager overseeing 6 properties in her current portfolio. Melinda started her career in Property Management in 2014 managing a privately owned complex in her hometown of Cuero, Texas before joining DMA. She is a mother to 4 very active kiddos and enjoys her time juggling their busy schedules and spending time with family.
Kathy Jones
Kathy is a native of Dallas, Texas. Where she grew up in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas.
Prior to joining DMA, Kathy worked for Carleton Residential Properties in Addison, Texas as the Property Supervisor for over 18 years. Kathy joined DMA in 2009 as the Property Manager for Grove Park Terrace. In 2010 she was promoted to District Manager overseeing 3 properties and REAC inspections for all DMA Properties.
Today, Kathy is Regional Manager for the North Texas area overseeing 6 properties in her current portfolio. Kathy is a Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) with over 30+ years in the multifamily industry.
Kelley Collins
Kelley Collins is a native Houstonian but has lived in Galveston County for the last 28 years. She joined DMA in February 2006 as Property Manager at Village at Morningstar Apartments in Texas City. In 2009, she also became Property Manager of Morningstar Villas and continued to manage Village at Morningstar. She was then promoted to Regional Manager in 2012. She is a grandmother of 6 and a great grandmother of 2. She enjoys spending time with her family. Kelley has 30+ plus years in property management.
Christine McAdams
Christine McAdams joined DMA in July 2013 as support staff in the accounting department and was promoted to Staff Accountant in 2016. In this role, she prepares and reviews financial statements for eight properties. Christine graduated from the University of Texas in 2005 with a BS in Applied Learning & Development.
Vienna Anana
Vienna joined DMA in August 2021 after six years of working in public accounting where she focused on completing/reviewing financial statement audits for partnerships in the real estate industry. Her role at DMA includes the property accounting for multiple properties, overseeing the audit process and reviewing the audits of the DMA properties from the outside audit firm.
Vienna received her BBA in Accounting and Master of Accountancy from Texas State University.
Sofia Rodriguez
Sofia Rodriguez joined DMA Companies in June 2023. She gladly accepted the new position as staff accountant and made it a goal of hers to assist the accounting team with punctuality, proactivity, and efficiency…with a slight touch of charisma. She has spent most of her time with the accounting department and is intrigued by how the financial excellence and prosperity remains so closely intact. She knows that with their help she will contribute her skills and knowledge adequately and it will be shown mostly through accounting. That said, she also plans for those same skills to push towards DMA’s vision of continuing success in keeping its leading force in this industry!
Sofia graduated from St. Edwards University in December 2022.
Nancy Hardin
Nancy Hardin joined DMA in January 2014 where she provides general office support to the staff of DMA Companies.
Nancy provided administrative support for the Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers (TAAHP) for three years following her retirement from the Texas Water Development Board, after 32 years of serving on its legal staff. She is a graduate of Texas State University.
John Matta
John Matta serves as the Accounting Specialist & Office Manager for DMA Companies. He held a variety of positions before joining DMA Companies. John attended Southwest Texas State University, where he earned an undergraduate degree in Broadcast Journalism.
