DMA Development is proud to partner with the National Center and Caucus on Black Aged in the rehabilitation of the 175-unit senior community, Samuel J. Simmons Estates, in Washington, DC.  The “Wall Breaking” commemorating the commencement of the reconstruction was celebrated on January 21, 2011.  Architectural Services are provided by Wiencek Architects and construction is being performed by Hamel Builders.  Our investor partner is Boston Capital and NIPB bonds were issued by the District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency. The project is credit enhanced by Prudential Mortgage in conjunction with Freddie Mac.  The reconstruction will be completed by the end of 2011.  Pictured are Harry  Sewell, Executive Director, DCHFA, Councilman Jim Graham, NCBA board member Ms. Joan McKinney-Shelton and Dr. Clarence Brown, the Executive Director of the DC Office on Aging.
