DMA Companies would like to recognize two residents for being awarded the two largest 2020 Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers (TAAHP) scholarships. We wish them congratulations and send best wishes to them both as they achieve their educational and professional goals!

Myat May, resident at Aldrich 51 - $12,500

Myat was born in Burma and moved to the US with her father and mother after she completed elementary school. Myat is currently attending graduate courses at The University of Texas at Austin.  She completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at San Antonio with a Major in Medical Humanities and graduated with high honors. She didn’t stop there! Her end goal is to work in Public Health Research.  In her free time she likes to play tennis, assemble puzzles and Legos and hang by the pool at Aldrich 51.  She also loves sherbet ice cream.

Jorgann Lea Holgersen is in her second year at Texas Tech University. She is studying for her bachelors in science of biology with a minor in chemistry and a minor in health professions.  She is pursuing the pre-medical track and hopes to begin medical school in the fall of 2023. Jorgann is now working as a Peer Educator for the Risk Intervention Safety Education, RISE, office at Texas Tech. At RISE, she is in her second year as a co-chair for the sexual health and sexual assault/consent committee and works to promote harm reduction strategies on campus.
