SERGIO AMAYA
March 14, 1961 – March 8, 2022
Sergio Amaya, Executive Vice President, DMA Properties, LLC passed away on March 8th, 2022. He was 60 years old.
His career in property management spanned forty years, from a part-time groundskeeper as a college student to the oversight of both market rate and affordable portfolios. Sergio joined DMA Properties as Executive Vice President in February 2005 when DMA owned four properties totaling 188 units and he led the company’s growth to 33 properties totaling 2800 units during his 17-year tenure. He had both respect and admiration from his colleagues and co-workers and was an all-around good guy!
DMA staff enjoyed Sergio’s culinary skills from time to time, be it a company cookout with his famous fajitas or breakfast tacos at staff meetings. He was also known as the “salsa king” for making delicious and unique salsas, which he generously shared with staff and friends. His love of food and wine led him to a position on the Board of Directors of the Wine and Food Foundation of Texas.
Sergio is survived by Judi (his lovely wife of 36 years), son Nickolas (32) and daughter Gabby (28). And, of course, by his DMA family. He will be in our hearts forever.
