On January 20th, DMA Companies was pleased to celebrate the Grand Opening of their newest affordable housing community in the heart of Downtown Austin – The Ladybird! This new development consists of 279 apartment homes to serve residents aged 55+. Among attendees were Luci Baines Johnson, daughter of former president Lyndon Johnson, US Congressman Lloyd Doggett and City Councilmember Jose Velasquez.

The Ladybird includes a total of 47 studios, 208 one-bedroom units, and 24 two-bedroom units, along with a 412-space parking garage. In addition to the apartment homes, the Ladybird includes the staff offices for management and leasing personnel, as well as numerous amenity spaces, including a library, training/meeting room, theater, and food pantry. Of the 279 units, all but 6 are affordable to seniors with incomes at or below 80% Area Median Income. Of these 246 have rents at or below 60% Area Median Income (AMI) and many of the senior residents benefit from rental assistance programs.
