Jorgann Holgersen
Jorgann received a $2,000 scholarship to attend her second year at Texas Tech University with the goal of becoming a trauma surgeon. Jorgann is certified Emergency Medical Technician, and certified in CPR and First Aid and had completed 36 hours of college credits while attending high school. In addition to her studies, she volunteers as a Peer Educator for the Texas Tech RISE office, which is affiliated with the American Medical Association, and provides risk intervention and safety education to fellow students. Jorgann is a previous recipient of the Camile Pahwa scholarship and we wish her continued success as she starts her second year!
Melissa Salinas
Melissa is the recipient of a $2,000 scholarship to continue her educational pursuits at Coastal Bend College, Beeville. Having recently received her Associates of Science degree from Coastal Bend College, she is returning to obtain a Licensed Vocational Nursing degree. In addition to her studies, Melissa had been working at Mathis Elementary in an afterschool program for the past 3 years. A previous Camile Pahwa Scholarship awardee in 2018, Melissa exemplifies the commitment and hard work of the scholarship’s namesake!
